Yinka Shonibare CBE on group exhibition ICA Boston

Work by Yinka Shonibare CBE will form part of When Home Won’t Let You Stay: Migration Through Contemporary Art, a group exhibition at ICA Boston responding to the migration, immigration and displacement of peoples today. Borrowing its title from a poem by British-Somali poet Warsan Shire who gives voice to the experiences of refugees, the show features artwork made by 20 artists from more than a dozen countries since 2000, highlighting diverse artistic responses to migration ranging from personal accounts to poetic meditations, and features a range of mediums, including sculpture, installation, painting, and video. The exhibition runs from 23 October through 26 January 2020.
