Nolan Oswald Dennis on Young Congo Biennale

Nolan Oswald Dennis is one of more than 40 artists, designers, architects, art historians, curators, art critics and others featured on this year’s Young Congo Biennale , running from 20 October to 21 November. Dennis will present a movement, and a gathering sound (working diagram), a diagrammatic wall mural produced in collaboration with local Congolese sign painters. This new work is part of an ongoing research project with Dana Whabira and Thembinkosi Goniwe tracing the spiritual afterlife of network infrastructures across Africa, such as railway lines and radio broadcast systems, which subvert colonial barriers, boundaries and borders.
