Description: William Kentridge’s Mine (1991) is a short animated film centred on Soho Eckstein, a wealthy mining magnate. Set against Johannesburg’s mining landscape, Kentridge uses charcoal animation, shifting perspectives and recurring imagery to explore wealth, exploitation, labour and the uneasy relationship between privilege and the world beyond it.
