William Kentridge makes his long-awaited debut at the Glyndebourne Festival this month with a new staging of L’Orfeo – the first time Claudio Monteverdi’s landmark baroque opera has been presented at the Festival. Known for an expansive practice spanning drawing, animation, theatre and performance, Kentridge brings a distinctive visual language to the production through an intricate layering of hand-drawn animation, collage, projection and live performance. In celebration of this major operatic debut, we present a selection of limited editions and rare prints by William Kentridge, offering a rare opportunity to engage with the artist’s broader practice and the visual world that informs his celebrated theatrical works.
