Description: William Kentridge’s Monument (1990) is a short animated film that explores the legacy of apartheid through a darkly comic depiction of power, labour and social hierarchy. Combining charcoal animation with live-action elements, Kentridge transforms a seemingly ordinary scene into an unsettling reflection on South Africa’s political and social landscape.
