Suleika Jaouad worked with Christian Siriano to create a showstopping look inspired by her Tunisian heritage. With its red and gold color scheme, the author’s glittering gown also evokes renowned African artist El Anatsui’s metallic tapestry-like sculptures. Derived from the West African tradition of strip-woven textiles, Anatsui produces tapestries of discarded materials, such as bottle caps and candy wrappers that are as eye-catching as they are intricate.
