The richly illustrated catalogue provides insights into William Kentridge's new chamber opera as well as the accompanying exhibition, embedded in the complete works of the great artist / The exhibition "Je n'attends plus" brings together some major works by the great South African artist William Kentridge, some of which have never been shown in Europe before. She accompanies the premiere of his new chamber opera "The Great Yes, The Great No" in Arles in July. Together, the result is a unique overview of Kentridge's work, which constantly deals with migration, oppression, historical transmission and the role of the artist in a society under pressure in experimental and performative works. The richly illustrated catalogue bears witness both to William Kentridge's new chamber opera and the exhibition accompanying it, embedded in the oeuvre of a great artist / The exhibition "Je n'attends plus" presents an ensemble of William Kentridge's major works, some of which have never been shown in Europe before. It was presented in conjunction with his new chamber opera, "The Great Yes, The Great No," which had its world premiere at LUMA Arles in July. This catalogue bears witness to both events to illuminate a remarkable body of experimental and performative work by an artist whose focus has consistently been on migration, the oppression of peoples, the transmission of history and the role of the artist in a society under duress.
