Returning to the Grand Theatre Luxembourg after showcasing his Red Bridge Project in 2020-21, William Kentridge once again weaves his unique and magical blend of the visual, spoken and sung to tell the story of displacement, refugee migrants and anti-colonialism through the lens of surrealism.
The Great Yes, The Great No is a captivating 90-minute performance. There is so much happening on the stage that I felt a little exhausted, but also invigorated, by the time I left the auditorium.
It took me several hours to process what I’d seen, and digest the details given in the programme to help me reach a number of lightbulb moments liberally thrown into the work.
